Hornsby Canvas & Tarpaulin Ltd. is a family
owned and operated business, established in 1974, by Margaret Hornsby. What
began as a recreational repair shop of mainly tents and campers flourished
and grew to become one of South Western Ontario's leading manufacturers of
industrial textile products. Margaret's determination and strong work ethic
assisted her development and success of the company in an era when many women
were employed in more traditional roles.
Throughout her years of hard work, Margaret
established a reputation of providing excellent quality products at fair
prices. She continually tells people she built the company one customer at
a time and each and every single customer is very important to her. The
personalized attention that Margaret and her staff provide to their customers
has helped to maintain client loyalty for many years. Each year Hornsby Canvas
continues to grow as it receives new accounts from satisfied customer referrals.
Located in Tillsonburg, the 7500 square foot plant
currently employs seven full time employees including Margaret Hornsby,
(President) and daughter Lorie McMillan (Sales/Marketing). Margaret supervises
production daily and still enjoys working at the sewing machine as much as
she did twenty nine years ago. The dedicated staff have years of experience
and has learned to excel at every new challenge presented to them. Quality
and service are two key words that have always been first with Hornsby Canvas
